Board Member, Confederation of European Forest Owners, CEPF, Sweden
Sven Erik Hammar has through various positions within the forest owner organizations in Sweden and Europe, long experience of putting the important issues for the family forestry on the agenda and impelling them forward. He is currently the Special Envoy for Swedish Forest Owners in international forest issues.
Sven Erik is a Member of the Board of The Confederation of European Forest Owners (CEPF) as well as a Member of the Board of The Forest Owner Association Mellanskog. Representing the family forestry in Europe, CEPF promotes the values of sustainable forest management, private property ownership and the economic viability of the forest sector. Mellanskog is a cooperative company owned by its 26,000 members, with a turnover of EUR 280 million. Sven Erik is also a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Forestry and Agriculture.
Sven Erik has a forest education and in addition to his assignments as an elected representative, he is a forest owner, entrepreneur and strategic advisor.
Sven Erik is the former President of the Federation of Swedish Family Forest Owners and Vice President of the Federation of Swedish Farmers (LRF). He has also been a Member of the Program Council for Sweden’s National Forest Program, and he was appointed by the Swedish Government to be one of the experts within the Official Parliamentary Inquiry with the directive to investigate and negotiate the first Climate Policy Framework and Climate Objectives of Sweden.
