
Jari Leppä
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Finland
Jari Leppä has held the position of Minister of Agriculture and Forestry since May 2017, and was appointed to the same position for the present government that was inaugurated in June 2019. He acted as Vice Chair of the Centre Party during 1995–2004 and was also a member of the Pertunmaa Municipal Board from 1993 to 1996. Following this position, he was Chair of the Pertunmaa Local Council during 1997–2017. Minister Leppä has been a Member of Parliament since 1999.
During his career in politics, Minister Leppä has been actively involved in a variety of different duties, including acting as a board member of the Youth Institute of Finland and Koirakivi village association, as well as being a member of the board of representatives at the Osuuskauppa Suur-Savo retail cooperative.
In addition to his active political career, Minister Leppä has also gained expertise as a tenant farmer from 1980 to 1992, and as a farmer from 1993 to the present day.
