Gunnar Olofsson

Chairman Statskog SF and SEKAB AB

Gunnar has long and diverse experience within the forest industry and financial sector. He is currently chairman of the Norwegian state-owned company Statskog and the Swedish biochemical company SEKAB AB. As a key player in the Nordic forest community he’s devoted to exploring new technologies and promoting the massive potential of the forest as part of the solution of the climate crises.

His experience includes a long tenure as CEO of Sweden’s largest forest owner Sveaskog and several key positions within the Persson Invest Group.

Gunnar has been a member of a number of decision-making and working groups, both nationally and internationally, within the forestry industry, bioenergy and research. He is currently chair of ”Skog 22”, the Norwegian Government’s strategy for the forest sector.

He has a Master of Forestry from the Royal College of Forestry (SLU) in Stockholm and an Honorary Doctorate from the same institution.
