Visit to a site where both digital forest management and modern harvesting technology are demonstrated
The field trip will take you to a forest site located between Koli and Joensuu where you will get familiar with digital forest management methods as well as modern harvesting technologies. At the site you will hear what sustainable forest management means in practice and why digital solutions play an important role in securing sustainability. You will also see a harvesting operation in action and may even visit the cockpit of one of the most modern harvesting equipments in the world.
The excursion is hosted by Tornator and Ponsse. Tornator is a leading company specialised in sustainable forest management in Europe. Ponsse is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of cut-to-length forest machines.
