Bioeconomy meets circular economy at the World Circular Economy Forum in June 2017

The World Circular Economy Forum will be organized by the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra on 5-6 June, 2017 at the Finlandia Hall in Helsinki. The forum aims to clarify how Circular Economy solutions can contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals by generating growth and jobs in different parts of the world.

Koli Forum will be responsible for organizing the Circular Bioeconomy mitigating Climate Change session and it will be opened by the Finnish Minister of Agriculture and the Environment, Mr. Kimmo Tiilikainen. The session will highlight the importance of forests and forest-based sector in offering solutions to global challenges. Topics include climate resilient forestry, new innovative products and services, substitution effects, value adding, etc.

The World Circular Economy Forum event will bring together world’s leaders, top experts, entrepreneurs, financiers, legislators and the civil society to share their ideas and to find common visions towards the transition to a Circular Economy globally. The forum will provide an excellent platform for discussions with dozens of world-renowned speakers who will explore future visions, new practices and current solutions for two full days. About 1,000 participants from different parts of the world are expected to attend this event.

Sitra is organizing the event in cooperation with several partners such as Nordic Council of Ministers, UNEP International Resource Panel, OECD, World Resources Forum, European Environment Agency and Climate Leadership Council. Koli Forum is looking forward to creating a successful event jointly with this truly international team of organizers!
