Koli Forum & World Circular Economy Forum on 5-6 June, 2017, Helsinki

UNIQUE EVENT WHERE BIOECONOMY MEETS CIRCULAR ECONOMY

The 5th Koli Forum is exceptionally held as a session in the World Circular Economy Forum 2017 at the Finlandia Hall in Helsinki on June 5-6, 2017. This special event of the year will highlight the drivers of and opportunities in bio- and circular economy, while offering a unique possibility for global networking. The event is expected to gather some 1,500 guests including business leaders, policymakers, researchers and innovators.

On the second day of the event Koli Forum is organizing a session titled Forest-based Bioeconomy and Climate Change Mitigation. This session will focus on the importance of forests and the forest-based sector in offering solutions to climate change related global challenges and will be opened with a keynote address by Kimmo Tiilikainen, the Finnish Minister for Housing, Energy and the Environment. Other speakers include Ma Rong, Deputy Director of National Development and Reform Commission of People’s Republic of ChinaMarc Palahí, Director General of European Forest Institute and Kati ter Horst, Executive Vice President of Stora Enso.

A lively panel discussion concerning topical issues related to forests and climate change mitigation will be moderated by Mari Walls, President and CEO of the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke). In addition to the above speakers, panelists include also Kai Merivuori, CEO of the Finnish Sawmills AssociationErika Mink, Vice President Public Affairs of Tetra Pak and Henrik Ehrnrooth, Chairman of the Board at Pöyry and Otava Group.
