IN JUST A FEW DAYS!
The 2nd Koli Forum will take place on 14 – 16 September, in just a few days! The Forum is focusing this year on Europe 2020 - Resources for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth especially from the point of view of renewable forest and bioenergy. The event strives for an informal atmosphere, where everybody can express their views freely, for this reason the event is not completely open to the media and the Chatham House rule is applied.
We can expect extremely interesting talks and discussions to be coming, thanks to our distinguished speakers and participants, I am sincerely convinced that the forum will be able to achieve outcomes which will benefit the global decision making process in the fields of bioeconomy and climate change mitigation.
In the spirit of Koli, I would like to wish all the speakers, participants and organizers a very pleasant stay and successful Forum!
Looking forward to meet you in Koli.

NEW EXITING INNOVATIONS

- We will present innovations that link climate stability, enhanced livelihoods, and wildlife conservation through new forest carbon and wildlife tracking technologies, incentive programmes for communities, and emerging carbon markets, promises Erik Dinersein.
UNIVERSITY PLAYS A CENTRAL, INFLUENTAL ROLE
- I see the university playing a more central role, not only in local, but also in instigating international dialogue, and in disseminating new information, in particular to fuel the European debate. This high-level international event will provide researchers, policy makers and representatives of industry and the so-called third sector with a good forum for mutual interaction, and the opportunity to lead the way in creating initiatives, states Perttu Vartiainen Rector of the University of Eastern Finland
