MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANISERS
The Koli Forum, a summit called to discuss the sustainable use of Europe’s natural resources, will take place in Finland on 22-24 October 2009. Among those defining the results of the Forum are Martti Ahtisaari, former Finnish President and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate; Loretta Dormal-Marino, Deputy Director General of the EC DG Agri; and former Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson.
KOLI THESES POINT THE WAY FOR EUROPEAN DECISION-MAKERS
The Koli Forum aims to be instrumental in the shaping of future discussions on natural resources, generating new ideas and concepts to support European decision-making. The event’s key messages will be formulated in the so-called ‘Theses of Koli’, aiming to provide new knowledge and perspectives to support European decision-making at other forums, such as the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference in December.

Keynote speakers include Karl-Göran Mäler, Professor of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences; Loretta Dormal-Marino, Deputy Director General, European Commission, DG Agriculture and Rural Development; Jorma Ollila, Chairman of Royal Dutch Shell and Nokia; and Odin Knudsen, Strategic Advisor at JPMorgan Chase in Washington.
