University of Eastern Finland pioneering an international university centre
TERI, an Indian energy and natural resources institute,
will establish its branch in Joensuu

The University of Eastern Finland will open its doors to international operators as it starts carrying through a plan for an international university centre that has been on its drawing board. The first entrant to the new university centre is a branch office of an Indian energy and research centre TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute).

The matter was agreed upon on Thursday in negotiations connected with the Koli Forum. The schedule for the establishment of the TERI Institute's branch office is still open: either in this year or the next one. In addition to TERI, it is hoped that current negotiations with the Chinese, for example, would lead to the joining of the next participant to the university centre.
