WWF was awarded its largest-ever grant for work in one country - a $30 million grant from USAID for implementation of a conservation program in Nepal

The conservation program is called Hariyo-ban (“The Green Gold”). It will address climate stability, nature conservation, and local empowerment, achieving this goal with financing from the UN REDD+ scheme agreed upon in the Climate Summit in Cancun last year. The carbon in Nepalese forest will be measured with the advanced technology provided by Arbonaut, a Finnish forest technology company.
