RENEWABLE FOREST AND BIOENERGY

The 2nd Koli Forum will take place on 14th-16th September 2011 in the Koli National Park in Finland.´Koli Forum will bring together a group of eminent decision-makers, executives
and experts from the spheres of business, science, politics and culture

- to participate in discussions,

to share information and views on future developments,

- to be inspired by new ideas,

to formulate common views and innovative new proposals

with regard to the management and development of natural resources and bioeconomy. The proposals formulated will be presented to the European Commission, the UN Climate Conference in South Africa 2011 and subsequently the UN Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro 2012.

Comments and suggestions from children (ENO-Environment Online), young people (IFSA - International Forestry Students' Association), NGOs and the general public on the topics of the Koli Forum will form an important part of the discussion.

Participation is by invitation only and limited to approximately one hundred people.

The voice of children

Act  Now! Forests For Future will gather together 2000 - 3000 students and teachers from about 100 countries. The conference is the highlight of Act Now activities in the ENO Programme, to celebrate the international year of forests by United Nations.

The voice of youths 

IFSA - International Forestry Students' Association is the global network for students in forest sciences. It unites approximately 3000 students in about 69 member associations (called Local Committees) in over 40 countries. IFSA is a non-governmental, non for profit and non religious organisation entirely run by students for students.

Together with WRF Davos

The WRF is a science-based platform to exchange knowledge about the economic, political and environmental implications of  global resource use. It promotes innovation for resource productivity by building bridges between researchers and policymakers, business, NGO's and the public. Flagship activity is the bi-annual conference, held in Davos, Switzerland. Its secretariat is based in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
